Police seek info after purse stolen

EMC News - Smiths Falls and District Crime Stoppers and the Smiths Falls Police Service are looking for information on the following crimes:

BREAK AND ENTER ON BROCKVILLE STREET

Overnight Oct. 12 to 13, suspects broke into a storage shed of a business on Brockville Street. A Yamaha gas powered generator was stolen. It would appear the culprits used bolt cutters to break the lock.

ATTEMPT BREAK AND ENTER ON THURBER STREET

Between Oct. 8 to 12 suspects attempted to break into an office on Thurber Street. The suspects attempted entry through a rear door window and may also have been on the roof.

BREAK AND ENTER ON ABERDEEN AVENUE

On Oct. 12 suspects broke into a residence on Aberdeen Avenue. Suspect gained entry by forcing open the front door. The residence was rummaged through but nothing was taken.

BREAK AND ENTER ON DANIEL STREET

On Oct. 11 around 4:30 a.m. the suspect entered a residence on Daniel Street. The resident was home and the suspect demanded money. The resident activated a personal alarm and the suspect fled. The suspect is described as a male about 5'6" to 5'8", thin wearing dark pants, dark jacket, dark baseball cap and a dark scarf which covered his mouth and nose area. The suspect spoke English with no noticeable accent or speech impediment.

ROOF TOP VANDALISM

Over the long weekend of Oct. 9 to 11 suspects caused damage to a local public school.

The suspects threw rocks at the door windows of the portable at the rear of the school. The suspects also climbed onto the school roof where they pulled down an external speaker cage and threw it to the ground and damaged two upper level windows.

GARBAGE BIN SET ON FIRE

On Oct. 3, around 5:40 p.m. a garbage bin located at William St. E. and Market St. was set on fire. The garbage bin and contents were burnt as well as some grass around the bottom.

BREAK AND ENTER ON HERSHEY DRIVE

Sometime between late afternoon Oct. 2 to early morning Oct. 4, suspects committed a break and enter at a business on Hershey Drive. Entry was gained through the front door and once inside the suspects opened a garage door and brought a vehicle inside. The suspects stole a large quantity of carpentry tools, including some industrial level tools.

HIT AND RUN

Between 7:30 and 8 p.m. Sept. 30, the suspect vehicle hit a parked Hyundai Santa Fe in the rear. The damaged vehicle had been parked in the lot of a local business on Lombard Street.

BREAK AND ENTER AT PARKLAND COURT

Between Sept. 27 at 5 p.m. and Sept. 28 at 11:30 a.m., suspects broke into a residence in Parkland Court. The residence was entered through a back door and the suspects stole two gold rings and loose change.
