EMC Entertainment - Film Night International gets under way on Thursday, Jan. 21. There are nine films in the winter series starting with An Education, the story of how a teenage girl's life changes when she meets a playboy nearly twice her age in suburban London in the 1960s.

Two movies a month will be shown until May, including Love and Savagery (Feb. 4), Cairo Time (Feb. 18), Creation (March 11), The Young Victoria (March 25), and The Last Station (April 8).

The three remaining screenings have yet to be announced. For more details about each of these films, go to http://filmnightinternational.blogspot.com.

Director Faye Cunningham comments that Film Night International, now entering its eighth year, continues to meet its goal of providing great entertainment at reasonable prices, as well as an opportunity for film-goers to meet and greet their friends before and after each screening.

Series passes cost $60 to all nine films and $40 to any five films and are now on sale at the Perth and Smiths Falls libraries. Individual tickets are $10 at the door. All films are shown at 7 p.m. at the Premier Cinemas in Smiths Falls and all profits from the series go back into the library community. For more information, call 613-267-1224.

Film Night International is a member of the Film Circuit, a national association that promotes Canadian, foreign and independent films through grassroots distribution.
